Another Daddy/Daughter Day

Yesterday, we were scheduled to attend a birthday party. But, due to Dad's screw up, we missed it. So, instead, we went to the National Trolley Museum in Colesville, Maryland. If you haven't been there, I highly recommend it. You get to ride on genuine old trolleys and the motorman gives you a brief history as well. Aja loved it. She got more of a kick riding and handing the motorman her ticket: very grown up. They even have a working model of a trolley system that I got a kick out of! But, be warned. If you come with your kids, be prepared to spend, LOL. They have a gift shop where kids will want something as a keepsake. Tickets for riding the trolleys, however, are priced quite modestly.

Today, after we got home, Aja and I made home made playdough! After reading the recipe, I was skeptical that this concoction would actually result in anything even resembling what I played with as a kid. But, sure enough, it did. It was just as soft and pliable as the commercial stuff.

Traditional Play Dough

* 1 cup flour
* 1 cup warm water
* 2 teaspoons cream of tartar

* 1 teaspoon oil
* 1/4 cup salt
* food coloring

Directions:
Mix all ingredients, adding food coloring last. Stir over medium heat until smooth. Remove from pan and knead until blended smooth. Place in plastic bag or airtight container when cooled. Will last for a long time.

After we played with the playdough a bit, we got into some circus hijinx. This girl is tough!

  • No where does it mention your gorgeous sister! I've seen her - what a knockout!
    I don't understand why she's still single.
    You should talk about her more often. She's also brilliant.
