Crazy World

Needless to say, the old adage, this world's "going to hell in a hand basket" is an understatement. We now have footage, albeit, not very clear, of Sadaam Hussein's execution! What's frightening to me the most is that I actually went out looking for this!! Calm down now, calm down. I'm not a death penalty advocate by any means. It was merely the curious side of me that wanted to see if they would actually execute him. I thought it'd be years before he got the noose or perhaps there'd be a last minute entreaty from some country willing to let him live out his days in the usual opulent splendor only afforded by ousted dictators after pillaging and raping their homelands. How often have we seen this? Well, I was so wrong! He was dangled from a rope in short order. Not that, Sadaam didn't get what was coming to him. But, it's just another bit of injustice that there are people right here on American soil that have, and continue to, profit from Sadaam's escapades into debauchery (Halliburton said real fast). You know who you are and you should be dangling in the breeze right along side Sadaam!

  • The world is a funny place, justice was served in Saddam's excution and yet it was handled in a dispicable manner. I have not seen the video only read transcripts and descriptions of what happened, i cannot bring myself to watch internet video of people in thier last moments, i have seen a few and it puts me in a foul mood. i do not believe in capital punishment in certain cases and yet when evil presents itself in such a manner i have no problem it. Its a shame that the human race has to deal out punishment of such magnitude but sometimes it is warranted. So the world is going to hell in a handbasket, if you would have uttered that statement back in the middle of the dark ages you could probably accept that as the outlook of the average serf was probably very bleak and yet look at the progress as a whole the human race has accomplished. if you transport the average serf from back then and let him experience our time and our day to day life, he would laugh at our bleak statement. point of view is a very important thing as well as having a open mind, sure it looks bleak now but it looked bleak for every generation, and yet the problems have gotten smaller and i doubt we are on the road to utopia but we are doing helluva better job than before
