Rip Off?

I was buying gas the other day at the BP station at Annapolis Road (Route 450) and Forbes Blvd and noticed something very fishy. I only needed a gallon of gas to cover the one-mile round trip Home Depot truck rental. I got exactly one gallon of regular with the price set at 2.199 per gallon. Yet I paid $2.20!!! Now, I know this isn't much: $0.001. But, when this is multiplied over the entire industry, we are looking at a substantial fleecing. I wonder if more people are aware of this. Hmmm. I think I'll right my Congressman (Albert Wynn).

Sun Certified!!!

I took the Sun Certified Java Programmer exam the other day and passed!!! It felt pretty good. The exam had a number of hard convoluted questions. Legally, I can't divulge what they were. So, I'll just say that some of them were quite annoying. But, I'm glad it's over and I'm now a member of the certified community!

Picture Day A Bust

Picture day with Aja was a bust. I went out yesterday (10/1) evening to try and take portraits of my precious 3 year old using the techniques outlined by The Strobist. My first mistake was setting up in area requiring a permit: in front of the US Capitol right next to the fountain. LOL, that's a no-no. All my equipment triggered the dispatch of a patrolman. The (cute) Capitol police officer nicely gave me the info on how to get one. So, I had to move. I found a spot that was just as good and decided to set up there. Shortly after setting up the umbrella and light stand, camera and tripod, "Daddy, I have to potty." DOH!!! She said she could hold it. But, she couldn't sit still with the combination of excitment at being out with dad and having to go to the bathroom. Unfortunately, this picture session was not to be as I lost my light. We'll try again and next time I'll be more better prepared.
