Star Trek 2008

Oh man, I'm as giddy as a school boy! The next installment of Star Trek is due out Summer 2009. Well, "next installment" is a poor choice of words for what this movie will be. From what I've read, it's really a prequel. It seems to be around the time the original Enterprise (NCC-1701) is being built as you can see from the trailer. And, Kirk and Spock haven't met yet. I'm intrigued by the concept. Yet the main cast gives me pause especially the actor playing Uhura. She seems sort of doll-babyish: not the strong officer portrayed by Nichelle Nichols. But, I'll give any actor a shot at my favorite Sci-Fi genre. After all, I've liked the portrayal of every actor that played a Trek role. So, here's to giving her a shot.
